We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors for their gracious contributions and relentless faith in the pursuit of a healthy and prosperous society.
Additionally, many corporate organizations, demonstrating a strong sense of social responsibility, have fully supported our cause by providing much-needed funding to assist underprivileged patients from lower and middle classes. We eagerly anticipate their greater support as we prepare to shoulder even larger responsibilities.
The Karachi Institute of Kidney Disease Association would like to present an overview of the highlights of the recently completed expansion project.
Our Intensive Care Unit has been upgraded to accommodate 14 beds. This state-of-the-art ICU is equipped with Ventilator Assistance, a Portable Ultrasound Machine, Portable X-ray Facility, Eco Cardiography Facility, Dialysis Facility, and all other latest equipment essential for saving lives.
Additionally, the Central Sterilization Services Department has been included in our expansion project. This in-house facility ensures that surgical instruments are sterilized in accordance with international standards.
The recently completed building features separate wards for male and female patients, each with 12 beds.
A modern conference room is now available for educational workshops and seminars. We are prepared to commence free classes for paramedics and technical staff.
An in-house, fully equipped laboratory is provided for all sorts of medical tests, playing a pivotal role in rapid diagnosis.
Recognizing the financial burden of CT scans on underprivileged patients, we have inaugurated a CT Scan Department to alleviate this monetary strain for those in need.
Our Radiology Department plays an essential role by providing X-ray, Ultrasound, Doppler, Biopsy, and Eco Cardiography facilities free of charge.
The Karachi Institute of Kidney Disease Association proudly stands as the second-largest organization offering Lithotripsy treatment at no cost. Lithotripsy, an innovative treatment utilizing laser rays, is the latest technique that removes kidney stones without surgery or medication.
Furthermore, our Vascular Surgery Department extends its services to patients from neighboring dialysis centers in and around Karachi city. We specialize in fistula implants and address other vascular abnormalities in dialysis patients
Our operation theaters are fully functional, staffed with experienced surgeons and paramedical professionals.
We have initiated an outpatient department to facilitate early diagnosis and treatment for people. In addition to Nephrology and Urology, experienced consultants specializing in Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiology, Pulmonology, and General Surgery are available to patients.
The primary goal of founding the Karachi Institute of Kidney Disease Association is to provide free dialysis services for underprivileged individuals. Over the past few years, we have gradually increased our dialysis capacity. With the inclusion of expensive state-of-the-art dialysis machines, we now perform over 170 dialysis procedures daily. Our dialysis center operates in three shifts from 8 am to 10 pm, ensuring life-saving treatment for patients, completing the crucial tasks and meeting all deadlines.
During a single patient's dialysis session, 300 liters of fresh water are required. To meet the growing demand for fresh water, an RO Plant with a larger capacity has been included in our expansion project. This newly installed RO Plant filters 60,000 gallons of water daily, fulfilling the demand of our dialysis facility.
We serve people regardless of their caste, religion, language, or class. Our patients receive quality treatment and best medicines, including expensive injections and antibiotics, totally free of cost.
More than 90% of our patients who utilize our free services come from poor backgrounds and genuinely require medical assistance.
We implore kind-hearted individuals and corporate sector organizations to join hands with the Karachi Institute of Kidney Disease Association. We plead with you to donate with more compassion, raise more funds, and thus help us save more lives.
We guarantee that zakat and other donations collected are used in accordance with Islamic Shari'ah principles.
